Abstract: |
The present work for preparing titanium dioxide as thin film to improve the PV system and put alternatives to manual cleaning with no loss in the efficiency. Using self-cleaning coatings instead of cleaning chemicals on PV panels is a very suitable process in the application and cost. A set of experiments were conducted on a laboratory scale by using the coating layer. The results showed that using pre-coated with titanium dioxide on PV panels is more effective than no coating layer. As increasing photo catalytic activity and the stability of the coated layer are more effective. The main goal of the presented research was to produce nanostructured TiO2 by sol-gel method using a titanium isopropoxide precursor in simplified conditions. According to the exposed results and discussions, we could draw the following conclusions: In the present study, TiO2 films the glass substrate which was pre-coated were prepared by sol-gel dip-coating process using different solutions ratios. A comparison of differences in film morphologies, photocatalytic activities, hydrophilicity, and optical properties with nanoparticle size between 15-72 nm was conducted. After the heating treatment for the TiO2 films at 500°C, it becomes transparent, uniform in color and thickness, and they were in anatase phase, orientated across the (101) plane as EDX results showed .Scanning Electron Microscopic data showed that the thin layer films made an excellent distribution with TiO2 particles, and no agglomeration may affect the properties of the coating and weaken it. The methylene blue photocatalytic degradation was enhanced due to the presence of an intermediate TiO2 layer Also notice that increase in the effect of the self-cleaning and super hydrophilicity. |
